Hard Work
Dan

Hello, I'm Dan.

I am a friendly and creative bartender from York in England, i have a passion for making customers feel as if they have a second home to relax and come together to meet new people, i also have a nose for great wines and big ambission

I feel that the bar needs to purely focus on the guest, whilst also not getting to into their faces. If your guest isnt having a good time they will not be impressed and might even never come back. My skills would consist of running a bar like clockwork getting amazing drinks out on time without breaking a sweat, i have learnt my time management through my experience working at the busiest club in York, at first i got to be honest i wasnt the best, i was 18, stressed and making a mess of things, being 23 now i have learned to keep it calm and keep ontop, getting 2 orders out at a time while keeping a big smile on my face, i later had the chance to manage the bar being a supervisor/ duty manager, this gave me the power to pass down my ethic to all the new staff working for me and help them overcome their nerves in what for some of them was their first job, to me that was like going straight into the deepend, after a while i wanted to introduce cocktails however learning from just the internet isnt enough for me so i wanted to make an experience of it and looked at EBS, until covid hit and put a massive downer on the bar business for me, as i didnt think it was a good idea to pursue this and each 7pm-5am shift was straining my everyday life and relationships so i decided to leave the club and the bar business behind and work as a supervisor at a ninja warrior course, i did this for some time until the owner was being very unfair with the staff, mixing their shift patterns and paying them very late, alot of stuff i didnt agree with, various meetings in which to fix this it felt i was going into a battle with the higher management when i tried to give solid input on how the staff felt and how we can expand to make more money to pay them on time as i presumed they didnt have enough money to pay them as i couldnt see the bank account. In the end i chose to leave as i felt like my skills were useless to them and threatened to fire me if i tried to go anyfurther with my ideas or mention any other complaint from the staff, so i moved to where i am now as a bartender cause i didnt want to have any involvement in management for a while and build myself up again and my god it was a really good call, the place i work now i have met so many amazing collegues who have grown to be my friend and same to the customers, regulars we all just get on so well with, not to mention a few famous faces too, this place re-lit my passion to want to go to New York to do the cocktail course something i am so proud of my self with doing as i got a great result and along with it friends for life a few that i will be doing extra courses with aswell, the more i learn the more i want to travel and take in as much info as possible, i have even started to learn German as it is a language spoken by most of my close friends and i think it would be great to converse in their language rather than always english cause of me. I really do look forward to hearing from places around the world and hope to get to work and learn many new things and also teach and pass on aswell
