Hello, I'm Matthew.
I am a friendly, confident individual who has a passion for new challenges and an unrelenting thirst for new knowledge. I am looking to blend both mixology and flair to advance both my own career and my employers' organisation.
I have spent my career working in 5* Hotels, Irish Pubs and managing a Private Members Club. Gaining as much practical knowledge about as many spirits as possible is my priority. Working in authentic, themed Bars is most compatible with my goals. Working in the Dorchester Hotel has been a highlight for me, as it opened my eyes to the pinnacle of customer satisfaction. The beginning of the experience was the bespoke Apéritif made by the bartender, and that set the tone for the evening. The biggest pleasure you have in a career is meeting an unlimited variety of people. Serving a wide variety of cocktails is incentivising, as it prevents stagnation and constantly enhances knowledge and experience. Being able to coach other people and being coached means that the world is my oyster!
