Hello, I'm Joris.
I view myself as a friendly, hard working yet easygoing aspiring bartender looking to continue building on my bar work experience. For me working hard, meeting people and having fun all at the same time is one of the best things ever.
The restaurants I have worked in have been similar kind of venues being food orientated pubs. This means that I have mainly worked as a waiter this far, with more bar serving later on in the evenings. I have therefore also experience with serving wine and beer, however neither of the restaurants have been serving cocktails. Having worked in restaurants in both Sweden and the Netherlands has broadened my spectrum and even though the restaurants I have worked in have been fairly similar, I have still had to adapt to differences in custom. Working in different countries combined with doing the 4-week International EBS course has made me realise how ways of working can differ in different venues and countries and I'm keen to learn more ways of working and adapt to these. Even though ways of working can differ, some things remain universal I find. The most essential and universal thing within the hospitality business is in my opinion to prioritise the guest. The guest should always remain your main focus, making him/her feel seen, welcome and serving the guest with a smile.
